Well, here it is, another race season about to swoop down on us. This is the time of year for cross-training, whether it be running, skiing, weightlifting, whatever. Fitness cannot be lost in the off-season. You must stay fit year-around to keep up with the ever-expanding talent pool.

Now is the time to start setting goals and deciding how to attain those goals. Use your past experience, and those of others, to guide you.

Each year brings on new challenges to keep this aging body going strong. It is hard to cope with the ups and downs of a competitive lifestyle.

It's time to kick-start the motivation motor, and start doing the right things in order to have a fulfilling season of great results and fun.
